Facebook rolled out an update on Thursday to its celebrity-focused Mentions app, making it easier for high-profile users to interact with fans.
In addition to sharing on Facebook, Mentions users can now add other people — including bandmates, teammates or colleagues — and hashtags to the “Mentions Feed,” a feed of posts in the app, as well as directly share updates to Twitter and Instagram.
Facebook introduced the Mentions app last July as a way for public figures, such as actors, musicians and athletes, to keep track of what fans are saying about them on the social network. For instance, if a Facebook user tags Jennifer Lopez in a status update, Lopez will be notified about it in the Mentions app, so she can potentially respond. Read more…
